BBC1 slaughters ITV1 in the World Cup final
BBC1 was the clear favourite for the World Cup final with the corporation taking a peak audience of 17 million (60.8%) compared to ITV1's 3.6 million (11.3%) during the penalty shootout at 9.15pm.
