ITV has recommissioned a beefed up second series of entertainment series Surprise Surprise.
The commercial broadcaster has ordered a 10 x 60-minute series from ITV Studios following the success of the six part revival of the classic Cilla Black entertainment series.
It averaged 4.75m (18.11%), just below the channel’s 12 month slot average of 4.96m (21.41%) when it aired in October.
The Holly Willoughby-fronted series, which sees the This Morning host award life-changing surprises to ordinary people with extraordinary stories, was recommissioned by ITV’s controller of entertainment John Kaye Cooper.
The show is exec produced by Kalpna Patel-Knight and the creative director is Lee Connolly.
Willoughby said: “I had so much fun being part of the show last year and have so many fond memories of the wonderful people I met, and the incredible surprises we gave. I can’t wait to do it all again.”
Hear from some of the biggest names in TV including Danny Cohen, Peter Fincham, Ben Frow and Stuart Murphy.
2 July at Bafta.
