Brat Camp producer Tamara Abood has joined Channel 4 as editor of current affairs strand Dispatches.

Abood takes over from Mehdi Husan, who left the broadcaster earlier this year to join weekly magazine The New Statesman.

Abood is a former Broadcast Hot Shot who helped steer the first series of TwentyTwenty format Brat Camp to an Emmy.

She has also worked on RDF TV’s E4 series Stop Treating Me Like a Kid and Silver River’s C4 series Millionaire’s Mission.

Last year, she executive produced Dispatches doc The Truth About Your Food, part of the Big Food Fight season. She also had a development deal with Stephen Lambert’s indie Studio Lambert.
