BBC 2 to show the 8 x 30 minute series


Brighter Pictures is making an 8 x 30-minute series for BBC 2 about Indian pop culture, with an estimated budget of£1m, writes Ashley Davies.

Bombay Blush was ordered by BBC entertainment genre controller Danielle Lux and will be overseen by BBC Scotland head of comedy Mike Bolland. The crew will be recruited from India's film and television industry in Bombay with post-production at Edit House in Glasgow.

The Bombay producer will be Sayeeda Irtizaali with Alexandra McLeoad producing from Glasgow. Mike Prince series edits and the executive producers are Gavin Hay and Remy Blumenfeld.

The series is set to air next autumn and includes stories of Bombay's version of Lily Savage, and India's obsession with Who Wants to be a Millionaire? The Blush brand may be extended to other cities such as Bangkok and Buenos Aires.
