Co-chief executive Allison Corn among staff to leave true crime label
All3Media America is shaking up its true crime label Lion TV US to focus on creative and development, resulting in six staff layoffs.
Co-chief executive Allison Corn, who has overseen the company alongside president Stan Hsue since 2021 and spent more than 20 years at the label in total, is among the those exiting. Hsue will remain in place to lead the time, having joined the business in 2006.
As part of the shakeup, Lion US will remain a standalone label but will now work with its All3Media America parent to produce development projects together.
All3 chief exec Jane Turton said: “I look forward to Stan and the creative team continuing to create fresh, distinctive, and compelling content for the American market.
“Allison has worked with Stan and the team to produce some fantastic content across premium documentaries, true crime series, and unscripted formats. We are very grateful to Allison for her contribution to Lion US over the past two decades and wish her every future success.”
Hsue said he was excited to be “leading Lion US in its next chapter as we fully integrate into All3Media America”.
He added: “While I look forward to building on all of our past successes, I must acknowledge all the incredibly dedicated and talented members of the Lion family who are departing as a result of the transition, particularly Allison Corn, who has been my dear colleague and partner in crime for nearly twenty years.”
Corn said: “I joined Lion in 2004 as a showrunner, expecting to stay for just one series. Twenty-one years later, I leave with deep pride in what we’ve built together.
“From launching the format powerhouse Cash Cab, to becoming one of the preeminent producers of True Crime content, my time at Lion has been filled with creative challenges, meaningful collaborations, and more than a few pinch-me moments. As the industry continues to evolve, I’m excited to evolve with it.””
The label is currently in production with Home Reimagined for Magnolia and the second series of Body in the Basement for Discovery ID. It is also behind Discovery+ titles Murder Under the Friday Night Lights, Mean Girl Murders and The Playboy Murders.
