Banijay Entertainment and All3Media have detailed the structure of their combined operations in Germany, following the combination of the two companies earlier this summer.

The country was one of the largest areas of crossover following the deal, with the new-look Banijay Germany producing more than 4,500 hours for broadcasters and streamers annually.

The division will be known as Banijay Germany, with a rejig of execs but only one exit - that of Fabian Tobias, whose appointment at ITV Studios was confirmed earlier today.

Labels that had been part of All3 - Filmpool Entertainment, Filmpool Fiction and South&Browse, as well as agency Magic Connection - will now fall under the Filmpool United brand. It is being led by chief exec Vittorio Valente, who previously led All3Media Germany as chief exec.

The managing directors of the labels continue to report to Valente, who in turn reports to Marcus Wolter, chief exec of Banijay Germany.

Other changes see Arno Schneppenheim, who had been chief exec at Banijay Productions, joining the Banijay board as chief creative officer, working alongside Knut Kremling (COO) and Michael Laegel (CFO).

The trio report into Wolter, with Schneppenheim tasked with managing developments across all platforms, including original IP and formats.

As part of the reshuffle, Katrin Stefanović is now sole MD of Banijay Productions, having joined as creative director before being upped last year to be co-MD.

Schneppenheim is also now MD of EndemolShine Germany, the division that produces local versions of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, The Lion’s Den and The 50, which debuts in September.

The exec previously led comedy and light entertainment at EndemolShine Germany from 2009 to 2018, prior to Endemol Shine Group’s acquisition by Banijay. Ute März retains the co-MD role, following the exit of aforementioned Tobias.

All eyes will be on further reshuffles around the world as the two companies continue to integrate. Few details have yet emerged, although Patrick Holland is taking on oversight of the UK, as revealed by Broadcast International.

Wolter said: “The two cornerstones of our joint company are: strong brands that have become beloved by our viewers; and the excellence of our teams in building and producing the brands of the future and the next big thing.

“Both Banijay and All3Media stand for building and growing companies with their own DNA, spirit, and independent positioning, driven by strong production personalities. The stars are the companies within the group – not the group itself. Now we are setting the course for the next stage of Banijay’s evolution with an exceptional new leadership team.”
