Patrick Holland has been confirmed as the leader of the expanded Banijay Entertainment’s UK operations, effectively becoming the boss of the indies that formerly operated under the All3Media banner.

Reporting directly to Banijay Entertainment chief executive Marco Bassetti, Holland’s leadership responsibilities span the “majority of the combined UK portfolio, which comprises around 40 creative labels in its entirety”, according to Banijay.

It is not clear which of the group’s UK labels do not fall under Holland’s remit, but Broadcast understands that entertainment giant Studio Lambert is one of the indies in question.

A Banijay spokesperson told Broadcast: “We are still in early stages of integration so are not commenting further on structure at this stage.”

The UK business has revenues of £900m and produces more than 2,000 hours of content annually, including noteable titles such as Last One Laughing UK, The Traitors, Gogglebox, At Home with The Furys, House of Guinness, Peaky Blinders, and Broadcast’s recent unveiling of tentpole Netflix order Netflix, Will You Marry Me?.

Holland said: “Under the expert leadership of Jane Turton and Sara Geater All3 has grown to be a phenomenal creative and commercial force and it’s a huge privilege to be asked to lead the combined business.

“Entrepreneurialism is baked into Banijay’s DNA, and the UK business has achieved its growth and creative success by innovation, collaboration and by backing talent to do their best work.

“The range and depth of phenomenal talent across All3 and Banijay UK is truly inspiring and I’m excited to help unlock the vast potential of bringing these businesses together.”

Marco Bassetti said: “In continuing to bolster our collective of talent around the world, we have cemented a market-leading footing across much of our footprint. Having local experts at the helm of our regional portfolios was always a strategic priority, and in the UK, we are pleased to confirm Patrick as our onward lead.

“Here we have an expansive portfolio which continues to go from strength-to-strength, particularly with the injection of All3Media’s producers, and with an expert team at the helm, we have no doubt we can maintain a healthy growth trajectory.”

Its labels include Kudos, Remarkable TV, Shine TV, Two Brothers Pictures, Lion, Silverback Films, Raw, Studio Lambert, Tiger Aspect, New Pictures and Story Films.

Holland joined Banijay UK in 2022 and has overseen consecutive year-on-year-growth with other production successes including Half Man (BBC1), Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (Netflix), The Buccaneers (Apple TV), SAS Rogue Heroes (BBC1), Big Brother (ITV2), and Would I Lie To You?

He has also added to the indie footprint through the Banijay UK Growth fund, which he launched in 2023, spanning acquisitions, strategic creative partnerships and talent deals.

Labels added to the group include The Forge, Garrison Drama and Mam Tor.
