Dog-related reality format debuted in France earlier this year

ProSiebenSat.1 and sibling streamer Joyn have ordered the first international remake of reality series The Detective Club.

Banijay Productions Germany is producing the remake of the format, which was originally created by the production giant’s French label B Prod.

The Detective Club - to be known as Club der Reality Detektive in Germany - is a strategic game of deduction and deceit, where reality stars collect clues and face interrogations to to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of the host’s dog, Coco.

Acting as amateur detectives, celebrities must identify the three culprits hidden amongst them, searching for clues and interrogating fellow contestants.

The format debuted on W9 in France, becoming the channel’s best reality launch since April 2024. It also generated more than 44 million views on W9’s TikTok channel, with its most popular clip reaching 4.6 million views.
