Multi-year deal extends distribution of HBO Max and linear channels in Africa and Europe
Canal+ and Warner Bros Discovery have extended their content relationship with a multi-year and multi-territory deal across streaming and linear TV.
The expanded arrangement covers both distribution of streamer HBO Max and re-upping of several WBD thematic channels in parts of Africa and Europe.
Canal+ group European subscribers will have greater access to leading WBD content via HBO Max and select channels, including premium series and films.
The French and US giants have renewed the distribution of HBO Max in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, while the expansion of the streamer via Canal+ will now encompass Belgium and Austria.

In Africa, 12 WBD thematic channels have been renewed across Canal+-owned MultiChoice Group territories.
These are: CNN International and Cartoon Network – exclusively in South Africa, and non-exclusively in other territories; Cartoon Network Porto – exclusively in Angola and Mozambique, and non-exclusively in other territories; and non-exclusive distribution of Cartoonito, Cartoonito Porto, Discovery Channel, Discovery Family, Real Time, ID, TLC, HGTV, Travel, TNT Africa and Food Network.
