He reports to Zimmermann and March, managing partners of Dynamic Television, which also confirmed its thriller series Conspiracy is in development with ZDF.

The drama, which has been created by Marco Girnth and Winger, is part of Dynamic’s plans to build a writer-led slate of series and films out of Germany.

Winger was showrunner on the first 200 episodes of local crime drama SOKO Leipzig, and was co-creator of the Deutschland 83, Deutschland 86 and Deutschland 89 trilogy, which sold around the world.

He also has credits on HBO Europe’s Hackerville and Disney+’s Sam – A Saxon.

Zimmermann said: “Jörg is one of the few creative talents in the German TV industry who consistently combines distinctive authorship with broad international appeal.”

Winger added: “Klaus, Dan and I share a real belief in building an extremely focused slate we feel genuinely passionate about.

“In this new era, only the most original voices will stand out enough to capture the attention of audiences facing an ever-increasing abundance of choice. Our combined expertise and our relationships with talent from all over the world will help us create that kind of irresistible entertainment.”

Dynamic Television has been behind Harry Wild S5 for AMC/Acorn TV and ZDF, and Apple TV’s Drops of God S2, while upcoming projects include Art Detectives (AMC/Acorn), Innate (Netflix Spain), and You’re Killing Me starring Brooke Shields.
