Wentworth spin-off lands at UK's 5

Skydance-owned 5 in the UK has boarded drama series Wentworth: Beyond Bars (fka Wentworth: The Next Chapter), the latest addition to the Australia prison franchise.

Aussie drama Wentworth Prison aired on 5 and 5Star for eight series, and the UK broadcaster has now joined the next iteration of the series - which was revealed in February - following a deal with distributor Fremantle.

Filming began in July this year, with the show produced by Fremantle Australia for DAZN’s Binge.

Wentworth: Beyond Bars is a continuation of the series and features an ensemble cast beyond the prison walls, where the world outside proves as unforgiving as the one they left behind.
