It premieres on 18 April exclusively on ReelShort and is based on the microdrama platform’s Married at First Sight series, which was originally released in 2023.

The show follows a woman who is betrayed by her boyfriend before marrying a cold and calculating billionaire chief exec after being pressured by her family.

The original has since been viewed 227 million times globally, according to ReelShort, with the Brazilian version set to star Laryssa Ayres and Ricardo Vianna, as well as a special appearance by veteran actor Adriano Garib.

The project is directed by Braizlian TV drama veteran, Rogério Passos.

Nani Freitas, chief exec at Banijay’s Endemol Shine Brasil, said: “Brazil has become one of the most mobile‑first entertainment markets in the world, and that shift is transforming how audiences consume content.

“In response, Endemol Shine Brasil is expanding its presence in this space, leveraging its expertise in high‑quality production and its ability to adapt global formats and guidelines into culturally relevant, locally resonant stories.”

Endemol Shine Brasil, which struck a microdrama pact with A Fábrica last month, produces local versions of shows ranging from MasterChef and The Masked Singer to Love Is Blind and The Bridge.

ReelShort was founded in 2022 by Crazy Maple Studio and claims to reach 65 million monthly active users globally.
