First-look deal covers projects from Curb Your Enthusiasm star and his production company
Fox Entertainment Studios (FES) has struck a multi-year unscripted first-look deal with Curb Your Enthusiasm star JB Smoove.

The deal cover projects from both Smoove and his label, Alternate Side Productions (ASP), which is run by Rick Dorfman and Miles Grose.
Under the partnership, Smoove will serve as executive producer and creative collaborator on an unscripted slate across genres.
ASP will also exec produce all projects generated under the deal, with Smoove, Dorfman and Grose attached as EPs, while FES will produce.
The label develops and produces comedy-driven and format-based content across TV and digital platforms, with a commitment to elevate Black, Indigenous, and People of Color voices.
“JB brings an unmistakable comedic voice and a fearless, spontaneous energy that makes him a natural fit for the unscripted genre,” said Allison Wallach, head of unscripted at FES.
“Together with Rick, Miles and the team at Alternate Side Productions, JB has a sharp eye for original concepts and an ability to connect with audiences in a way that feels fresh, energising and highly entertaining. We’re excited to build a slate that fully taps into that original perspective.”
Smoove added that the deal would give ASP “the space to get wild with ideas, find the funny in real life, and bring some shows to the screen that people didn’t even know they needed yet.”
Smoove is best known for his role as Leon Black on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, while other credits include Real Husbands of Hollywood, Mapleworth Murders and films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home.
He’s repped by Authentic Talent and Literary Management, UTA, and attorney Roger Pliakas.
