The Mole heads to Hungary
Hungarian broadcaster TV2 has ordered a local version of reality competition format The Mole.
The remake will be known as A Tégla and is being co-produced by TV2 and Eccholine, the latter of which has been behind local versions of Peking Express and Ninja Warrior.
It will air in Q3 2027 and follows the format's return to Netflix for a two-season run.
First launched in 1998, The Mole sees 10 players working together to complete a series of challenges to build a shared prize pot. However, one player is secretly working to sabotage the group’s efforts to take the cash for themselves, leaving the other nine to guess who it is.
ITV orders Two Brothers drama
Banijay's Two Brothers Pictures is to produce a dual-timeline ITV thriller following a man who returns home after a conviction for the brutal murder of his family.
Lennie James will star as Matthew, who returns to his Portugal home years after his sentence. The narrative moves between the past and present to pick apart the events that led up to the devastating night when Matthew’s wife, Beth and two teenage sons Alex and Simon, were attacked in their beachfront home while Matthew was out swimming.
In the present, Matthew mounts his own investigation, revisiting broken relationships and interrogating the people who built the case against him, to unpick what happened a decade before.
Two Brothers’ managing directors Harry and Jack Williams will write the series. The siblings have previously made Liar, Cheat and Strangers for ITV1 through their label, now part of Banijay UK.
