He had been in the same role at eOne since 2017, working on shows such as Family Law, The Newsreader and Upright.

He was also behind Teacher for 5 in the UK and Nine Network’s After The Verdict, joining eOne having been exec vice-president of content at NENT Studios UK (fka DRG).

Hedges, who also worked across acquisitions for Shine International and Cineflix, stepped down from his role at Lionsgate late last year.

“The media landscape is changing fast, and whilst that brings its challenges, the new ways content is being created, financed and consumed bring their own energy,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

“From the conversations I’ve already started having, it feels like an exciting moment to be open, curious and positive about what comes next.”

Hedges’ exit comes nine months after Yellowjackets, Power and Hunger Games producer Lionsgate split from cable business Starz.

The US giant, which was also behind the CBS remake of UK comedy Ghosts, had already combined its TV and film arms with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) outfit Screaming Eagle Acquisition Corp in 2023 to form Lionsgate Studios.
