ProSieben sells weather service to focus on entertainment
Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1 Media is selling online weather portal Wetter.com to FUNKE Mediengruppe as it refocuses its efforts on entertainment.
ProSieben co-founded Wetter.com in 2000 as a media partner, acquiring full ownership in 2014 and subsequently integrating the company into its digital division.
The German broadcaster has been battling an ailing ad market and recently saw its CEO, CFO and COO departing, less than two months after MediaForEurope secured a majority stake in the media giant.
