Andrés Zamora becomes head of global pre-sales and distribution, with a remit to expand its international activity and secure deals with streamers and broadasters.

He joins the Zorro and Terra Alta firm having been executive director for Iberia at SPE and before that held roles at Avalon, Sky and Global Screen.

Zamora’s new role will see him reunite with fellow Sony alum Brendan Fitzgerald, who left his role as co-productions chief at Sony Pictures Television last year to become chief exec at Secuoya.

“Andrés brings valuable expertise in pre-sales and international distribution, which is essential as we accelerate our global expansion,” Fitzgerald said.

“His appointment is a natural step within our growth strategy and an additional driver to ensure our stories travel and connect with diverse audiences.”

Zampora said: “I look forward to contributing my distribution experience to support the studio’s global expansion strategy and to help creators bring their stories to the widest possible audiences.”

Secuoya has been looking to expand its reach over the past year via its PODS strategy, which sees scripted series, feature films, documentaries and unscripted formats being developed in multiple languages beyond Spanish.
