Israeli scripted format that spawned Showtime series set for 12th adaptation in Poland
The Pack and Pitbull producer ATM Grupa has picked up rights to create a local version of Israeli scripted format, Your Honor (aka Kvodo).
The show, which has a working title of Sędzia, will become the 12th iteration of the original format that was created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach in 2017.
Details of the local broadcaster/streamer have not been revealed but it is thought that the Polish series means the IP is now the most widely adapted scripted format of the decade.
Previous adaptations in the US, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, Russia, and India have been followed by Chinese-language and Ukrainian versions announced earlier this year.
Your Honor (S1 12 x 35 minutes; S2 10 x 40 minutes) is a legal thriller telling the story of a respected senior judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run accident, leading to difficult choices, moral dilemmas, and terrible consequences as he attempts to keep the crime a secret.
The format was originally produced by Yes TV and Koda Communications, with Yes Studios selling the original drama and format worldwide.
Dariusz Gąsiorowski, who is overseeing the adaptation at ATM Grupa, said: “Are there limits to a parent’s love for a child who has lost their way? This is the central question behind this universal story and likely the reason for its success across so many cultures and audiences.
“We believe Polish viewers will also connect deeply with the emotions this series delivers,” Gąsiorowski added.
