Indonesia becomes latest country to order a local version of the Dutch format

Indonesia has become the 40th territory to commission a local version of All3Media’s Dutch format, The Traitors (aka De Verraders).
The show, created by All3-owned IDTV, is being adapted as a 10-episode celebrity version by local producer and distributor Falcon. It has been slated to debut on the Indonesian company’s OTT platform later this year.
The Traitors has also recently secured deals across Europe, with new versions coming to Slovakia and Estonia, while PRVA TV in Serbia has commissioned Rainmaker to produce its adaptation.

A celebrity series is also in the works for Television Malta, with local outfit Greatt producing.
The deals join other recent commissions in Turkey, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea, while an Indian version was commissioned for a second season following launch on on Prime Video.
The format has also spawned a London-based live experience, a stage play slated for 2027, a board game, and a mobile game from Fusebox Games scheduled for release on iOS and Android later this year.

The Traitors, known in the Netherlands as De Verraders, was created and developed by IDTV in cooperation with RTL Creative Unit. It debuted on RTL 4 in the Netherlands in 2021, before being remade around the world including in the US (on Peacock) and UK (on the BBC).
