WBD’s Dorota Eberhardt joins Kino Świat
Kino Świat, the Polish distributor and producer owned by Canal+, has appointed Warner Bros Discovery’s Dorota Eberhardt as chief exec.
Eberhardt was previously vice president of programming, streaming & new channels at WBD’s TVN, working on shows such as Eastern Gate and Decent Man.
She previously held roles at CD Projekt and Forum Film Poland (Disney’s theatrical distributor) before joining WBD a decade ago.
Eberhardt will now oversee all operations at Kino Świat, which operates across TV, cinema, VOD and home entertainment. She reports to Alex Hamilton, StudioCanal’s chief international officer.
Fallout gets free run on Samsung TV
Samsung TV Plus is offering the first season of Prime Video drama Fallout to its customers in more than 30 countries for free ahead of the show’s return to the streamer later this month.
The show’s first season is available on Samsung’s FAST channel from today until 25 December, with the second run of the video game adpatation set to debut on Prime Video from 17 December.
The launch comes in tandem with an expansion of the game franchise that spawned the show. Fallout 76: Burning will expand the Fallout world and is available via the Samsung Gaming Hub.
Netflix develops erotic drama Hancock Park
Global streamer Netflix is moving into erotic drama with a drama starring Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page.
He will also exec produce the upcoming series, which is in development. The story follows Page’s character - a member of Los Angeles high society - as his family struggles to hold onto their status.
Matthew Barry (Industry) is attached as writer, with Page producing via his A Mighty Stranger banner. A Mighty Stranger’s Emily Brown (The Count of Monte Cristo) and Drew Comins (Yellowjackets) are also attached as exec producers.
Rage in Spain continues on HBO Max
HBO Max has extended Spanish drama Rage into a second season with a new cast.
The show, created and directed by Félix Sabroso and produced by Producciones Mandarina, premiered in July and tracked the lives of five women who react to extreme situations they find themselves in, all of which are interconnected.
Rage S1 was the platform’s third most-watched series in Spain, after House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.
The second run will feature a new ensemble cast that will include returning cast members from the first season. It is set to debut in 2026.
Disney+, Hulu explore social media and crime
The intersection of social media and crime is the subject of an upcoming Hulu original series from Lightbox for Disney+ UK.
The Devil in My DMs is a four-part Hulu original series that is billed as an exploration of the “dark” intersection of social media and crime. It follows four distinctive stories where an online interaction becomes the breeding ground for shocking real-life crime.
It was ordered by Sean Doyle, executive director of unscripted for Disney+, and is exec produced by Suzanne Lavery (Sophie: A Murder in West Cork) and Lightbox co-founders Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn. Toby Trackman serves as director, having previously worked with Lightbox on Disney+ music doc Camden. Read more
Bomanbridge’s Secret World of Snakes travel
Nat Geo and Discovery have picked up rights to Bomanbridge Media’s wildlife series The Secret World of Snakes.
The 3 x 60-minute show is a co-production between Bomanbridge Media, South Africa’s Lion Mountain Media and China Media Group (CMG).
It will debut on CMG’s CCTV 9 in early 2026 and has now also been picked up by National Geographic for EMEA and Discovery Asia, with launches slated for next year.
The show celebrates and uncovers the secret lives of snakes, with footage from Africa, America, Australia and Asia, with rare access granted to Shedao (Snake Island) located in northeastern China..
Stan’s Death Cap docuseries goes global
Netflix UK is among the international buyers for high-profile Stan docuseries Death Cap: The Mushroom Murders.
The three-parter is co-produced by Fifth Season, Dreamchaser and Den of Martians and delves into the high-profile case of Erin Patterson, an Australian woman convicted of fatally poisoning three relatives with a deadly mushroom-laced meal.
Besides Netflix, the doc has been acquired by CNN in the US and Canada, Bell Media in French Canada, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, NRK in Norway and MTV Oy in Finland. Original broadcaster Stan will air the final two episodes of the series later this year. Read more
Poland extends Let’s Make A Deal
Warner Bros Discovery-owned Polish network TTV has ordered a second season of gameshow format Let’s Make a Deal.
The first season of the format, which is owned by Glass Entertainment Group and sold by Can’t Stop Media, debuted in September and is known locally as Idź na Całość!. TTV is part of WBD’s TVN Group.
Let’s Make A Deal debuted more than 50n years ago and has sold globally, with the show into its 17th season on CBS in the US. Contestants strike deals with the host, trying to increase the value of the item they hold.
