Broadcast is inviting UK independent producers to take part in this year’s annual Indie Survey.
All UK-based indies that produced at least one hour of content for a TV broadcaster in 2011 and can provide their most recent turnover figure can qualify.
Turnover refers to all television licence revenues and related income (licensing, merchandising, overseas sales, foreign direct commission etc). We trust you to be honest but will run spot checks with Companies’ House too.
We have produced a simple questionnaire to map out companies’ performance, with questions on commissions, staff, international and digital developments, plus a series of anonymous questions about issues facing the industry.
Last year, Talkback Thames (now known as Fremantle Media UK) edged past Hit Entertainment to top the table of indies by turnover, while Clerkenwell Films, Twofour, Touchpaper Television Princess and Studio Lambert were some of the star performers.
The Broadcast Indies Survey has become the UK’s standard industry reference and measure of indie performance, collated in a special Broadcast supplement in March.
The data will also be posted to our online commissioning index, http://greenlight.broadcastnow.co.uk which can be accessed by all of our subscribers.
If you have not received a copy of the questionnaire, please e-mail robin.parker@emap.com. Completed forms are due in by 9 February.
