Fox preps animated comedy from Malamut brothers

Fox has ordered animated comedy Universal Basic Guys/The Hoagie Bros (working title) from Sports Friends and Game of Zones creators Adam and Craig Malamut. Co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, with Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment serving as animation studio, the series follows two brothers who suddenly find themselves unemployed when the Glantontown Hot Dog factory becomes fully automated, giving them a $3,000 per month income under a radical universal basic income pilot scheme. With free-time and money to spend, the show is about men trying to find purpose in a world where they’re no longer needed.
