The BBC Sport app & iPlayer had 8.3m requests to watch the match

A peak audience of 15.4 million tuned into England’s 0-0 draw with Ghana on 23 June.
The World Cup group stage game saw 8.3 million requests to play the match on the BBC Sport app and iPlayer, which is the highest of any major football tournament on the BBC, while the UHD streaming option had a peak of 1.3 million concurrent streams.
Meanwhile, BBC Sport’s live page on the website and app had over 10 million page views, and its immersive 3D experience had 300,000 uses during the game. This takes its tournament numbers up to 2.2 million.
These numbers equal the 15.4 million who watched ITV’s coverage of England’s opener v Croatia. ITV will be back in the seat for the next England game, when the Three Lions take on Panama at 10pm on Saturday, 27 June.
