Amazon Prime Video has agreed a multi-year deal to broadcast all New Zealand cricket matches in India.

The ‘multi-year’ deal covers men’s and women’s Tests, ODIs, and T20s played in New Zealand, starting with New Zealand men’s v Bangladesh in the new year.

Most relevantly for the territory, it will also be showing the Indian women’s sides February 2022 tour of the country, and the men’s tour in November 2022. The men’s sides faced each other in India earlier this month, with India winning the two-match test series 1-0, and in the World Test Championship final last June - which saw New Zealand leave as the inaugural victors of the competition.

There are also men’s series involving South Africa, Australia, and the Netherlands to come next year.

In addition to the live broadcasts, there will be cricket-related programming and highlights available around matches, and highlights of the most recent games will be made available shortly after they end.

Gaurav Gandhi, country head for Amazon Prime Video in India, said: “The New Zealand cricket team has built a reputation of being one of the finest in the game and undoubtedly cricket fans in India will be delighted experiencing the exciting sporting action live exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

“We are excited to start our live cricket journey in 2022 – an action packed year that will see both Indian women’s and men’s teams tour New Zealand. Today is truly Day 1 of our sports journey.”
