HMRC of Football will try to tell fact from fiction with co-host Anita Abayomi

Karel Prince Lie Detector BBC Sport

The BBC has launched Karel Prince: Lie Detector, a new podcast about true and false footballing stories.

Prince, also known as the HMRC of Football, will try to tell which of three footballing stories isn’t true, alongside co-host Anita Abayomi. The pair will use logic, evidence, football knowledge and online detective work to tell fact from fiction.

The six-part series will be available to listen to via the Football Daily podcast feed on BBC Sounds, the BBC Football YouTube channel, and on BBC Radio 5 Live. It is produced by Sport Social Studios and the first episode releases today, 22 July.

Prince said: “I’ve always loved the stories that go on behind the scenes and the facts in and around the game. So getting the chance to become the BBC’s resident football fact checker feels like a dream.

“Follow me and Anita as we try and crack a new case each episode, diving into some of footballs untold stories from down the years. Football is only as good as its stories and I promise you, some of these are crazy and it’s been a pleasure to be a part of telling them.”
