The England and Manchester United star opens up on the loss of her father in new documentary

BBC Sport Ella Toone

BBC Sport will go behind-the-scenes with England and Manchester United star Ella Toone in a new documentary.

24 Hours With…Ella Toone follows the footballer and her fiancé Joe Bunney in the build up to their wedding. Toone opens up on the loss of her father in 2024 and how she is coming to terms with it, how his absence will be felt on their big day and the decision to ask her uncle to walk her down the aisle.

The documentary is set across a rare 24-hour window on a day off for Toone, and the pair also reveal some of their exciting wedding plans and give an insight into their busy daily lives, including visiting Ella’s ET7 academy, hosting six of Ella’s bridesmaids to discuss the hen do and their dresses and attending a dance rehearsal for their first wedding dance, to hilarious effect.

24 Hours With…Ella Toone will be available on the BBC Sport YouTube channel from 6pm on 29 May, before landing on iPlayer and being broadcast on BBC3 at 7pm. The YouTube Premiere page will be available from 6pm on Wednesday 27 May to set a reminder.
