EBU streaming platform to show competition globally
Eurovision Sport will stream the Homeless World Cup globally and for free.
The EBU has come to an agreement with Homeless World Cup Foundation to show the competition, which takes place in Oslo, Norway, from 23-30 August. 500 participants from 48 nations will compete in 4-a-side matches as part of the usually annual tournament, which hasn’t taken place since 2019.
Eurovision Sport will stream all matches taking place on the event’s main pitch globally, which will also feature live match commentary. In addition to live coverage, a wide range of supplementary content including player profiles, social stories, and behind-the-scenes features will be available to EBU Members via the EBU News Exchange.
Mel Young, president of the Homeless World Cup Foundation, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Eurovision Sport to bring the Oslo 2025 Homeless World Cup into homes and hearts across Europe. Together, we can shine a light on how sport empowers those experiencing homelessness, helping to shift perceptions and support those in need.”
Alan Fagan, managing director of Eurovision Sport, said: “We’re proud to play a part in bringing this tournament to fans across Europe and beyond, showcasing grassroots sport with global resonance, and building awareness for this inspirational event”
