Series will feature interviews with footballers who have overcome significant obstacles in their careers
Footballco has partnered with Adebayo “Bayo” Akinfenwa to launch the Beast Mode On podcast.
The series, hosted by former footballer Akinfenwa, will consist of interviews with fellow players who have overcome significant obstacles in their career. It begins with ex-Watford striker Troy Deeney, who discusses his career, his troubled childhood and his relationship with his father, who passed away days before Deeney began a 10-month prison sentence.
The second episode will feature West Ham legend Michail Antonio.
Beast Mode On is available through podcast platforms as well as its own YouTube channel, with content also distributed through Akinfenwa and Footballco’s social channels.
Xavi Sanchez, VP of content for Footballco, said: “Beast Mode On is the perfect platform for Bayo. On the one hand, his larger-than-life personality makes him a charismatic host, but he’s able to pair this with an understanding of the mental challenges faced by players at all levels of the game.
