International Sports Broadcasting (ISB) has been announced as the host broadcaster of urban sports competition Extreme Barcelona (4-6 September).
The event sees 500 athletes from 40 countries take part in around 30 competitions across men’s, women’s and mixed categories, alongside a cultural and entertainment programme designed for audiences of all ages.
As well as producing the host feed, ISB has been responsible for securing broadcast deals for the event, which have grown from five broadcast partners last year to 25 this year, with more still to be confirmed.
In Spain, the competitions will be broadcast live on RTVEPlay and Esport3. Internationally, the event will reach audiences across Europe, the United States, Latin America, Asia and Africa, with coverage in countries including Croatia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Estonia, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Greece, France, Italy, Portugal, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, India, the Philippines, Indonesia and Azerbaijan, among other markets.
The action from Extreme Barcelona will also be streamed on the Urban World Series YouTube channel free-to-air globally.
Extreme Barcelona features BMX Freestyle, skateboarding, scootering, breaking, 3x3 basketball, Para BMX Street and 3x3 football. This year also sees the launch of hybrid partner fitness competition Synkro Race, which combines running and high-intensity strength workouts.
Throughout the weekend, the sports programme will be accompanied by music, art, gastronomy, entertainment and experiences.
