All major domestic racing will continue to be shown free-to-air by broadcaster

ITV RACING - GRAND NATIONAL 2021 - 1

ITV has agreed a four-year deal to show all major UK horse racing until the end of 2030.

ITV has shown UK horse racing since 2017, and will continue to air the likes of the Grand National, Royal Ascot, the Cheltenham Festival and the Derby. In total, there will be 117 days of live coverage each year across ITV1, ITV4, STV and STV Player - all simulcast on ITVX - along with the morning racing programme The Opening Show.

Horse racing has generated over 15 million streams on ITVX in 2025 so far, with other highlights including the Grand National achieving the biggest peak audience of Q2 with 5.2 million. In addition, Five million viewers watched Royal Ascot across the five days it was on air, with viewing on the final day (Saturday) up by over 20% compared to last year, the Cheltenham Festival saw its biggest peak audience for four years with a high of 1.8 million for the final day, and the Derby saw its biggest audience for two years peaking with 1.3 million.
