New role will also include rights for YouTube and digital platforms

Jon Norman Talksport

Talksport has appointed Jon Norman to the new role of sports rights manager.

Norman will hold the position in addition to being head of cricket at the organisation, which he has been for over a decade. Overall, he has been at Talksport for over 22 years, and has also worked with the likes of IMG, UEFA and Perform.

As sports rights manager, Norman will look to expand Talksport’s rights portfolio, including on YouTube and digital platforms as well as its traditional area of radio. He will lead acquisitions end-to-end and navigate commercial deals.

Norman will report directly to Liam Fisher, head of Talksport, and work closely with live sports editor Ellie Beaven to integrate new rights into the network’s expanding digital and broadcast ecosystem.

Fisher said: “Jon’s appointment marks a pivotal moment in further evolving Talksport across live sport. As our offering continues to expand across our audio, video, and social media channels, having a dedicated rights strategy is crucial to unlocking new commercial value and reaching wider audiences.”

Norman added: “I’m thrilled to take on this new role at such an exciting time for Talksport. Managing and acquiring major sports rights requires an agile, forward-thinking approach across every format. I look forward to working closely with the team to elevate Talksport’s position as a premier global rights partner and drive top-tier live coverage for our audiences, while continuing to lead our fantastic cricket output.”
