NBC Sports’ broadcast of Liverpool v Arsenal on 23 December was the most watched English-language Premier League coverage ever in the US.

1.96 million tuned in to see the title challengers draw 1-1 at Anfield, with an additional 328,000 watching on Spanish-language channel Telemundo. The English language broadcast beat the previous record of 1.92 million, which was set during Arsenal’s home clash with Manchester United on 22 January 2023. That earlier fixture had slightly more viewers, 2.31 million versus 2.28 million, when taking into account Spanish language audiences.

Liverpool v Arsenal also became the second-most streamed match of the 2023/24 season, with 464,000 streaming through Peacock compared to first placed Liverpool v Manchester United on 17 December’s 509,000.

All of the top five most watched Premier League matches by US audiences have come in the last 12 months. NBC tied up the rights until the end of the 2027/28 campaign with a £2 billion deal in 2021.
