LiveScore has secured the exclusive rights to broadcast the FIFA Club World Cup free-to-air to fans in Ireland.

The tournament will be delivered via the LiveScore app and website, and the deal follows LiveScore’s existing rights deal within Ireland to live-stream all UEFA Champions League matches for free on the LiveScore app and website until 2024.

The FIFA Club World Cup is currently held by Chelsea. Teams competing this year include Real Madrid, Egyptian side Al Ahly SC, Auckland City, CAF Moroccan champions Wydad AC, Saudi outfit Al-Hilal, MLS’ Seattle Sounders and Brazilian side Flamengo.

The tournament starts today (1 February), when Al Ahly will take on Auckland City in the opening match, and will culminate in the final on Saturday 11 February.

Ric Leask, marketing director at LiveScore, said: “At LiveScore, we bring fans closer to the sports they love. We believe fans should have access to the biggest football matches and events, without having to pay extortionate prices, especially in the current economic climate.

“We are thrilled to be bringing more football to fans in Ireland through our successful free-to-air model. The reception from fans in the region to our Champions League broadcasts has been hugely positive and we’re excited to build on this success by adding the FIFA Club World Cup to our offering.”
