Amateur darts players will face the world number one for the chance to win £501,000
Netflix has revealed Beat Luke Littler, a live show where amateur darts players will attempt to defeat the world number one.
20 amateurs will have one leg of 501 to see if they can beat Littler, with £501,000 on offer to any who acheive the feat. This will be shown live, with the aim of bringing, “the sport’s electric atmosphere,” to the streaming service.
Beat Luke Littler has been created by Netflix in partnership with the PDC, and is being produced by Banijay label Workerbee. The pair are now on the search for the 20 competitors, and open regional heats will be held in Manchester and London this September. More information on entering can be found at Beatlukelittler.com.
Littler, who has just come off the back of winning the World Matchplay title, said; “Everyone thinks they can beat me. Now they get a chance to prove it. Bring it on.”
This is the latest in a series of expansions in the UK sport market by Netflix, alongside renewing its deal with Goalhanger’s The Rest Is Football for the Premier League season, announcing a documentary on football manager Jose Mourinho and creating a UK version of its Untold sport documentary series.
