Quirky sports producer Pro League Network (PLN) is launching a 10-week combat series called Friday Night Fights that focuses on PNL’s fight formats, CarJitsu (pictured above), SlapFight, Coffin Wars, Chest Chop and Ultimate Tire Wrestling.

For the Friday Night Fights season, PLN has divided its 140 combat sports athletes into seven teams of seven athletes.

Every week the PLN Randomiser will select an athlete from each of the teams to compete in that week’s discipline.

Athletes win points for their teams based on performance as they vie for the Friday Night Fights Championship

The season will culminate with a two-hour Friday Night Fights Championship on 15 August, a multi-sport finale week with athletes from throughout the summer returning for the final showdown.

“Friday Night Fights is going to have a little bit of everything – chaos, athleticism, heart-pounding, can-you-believe-that action,” said Pro League Network co-founders Bill Yucatonis and Mike Salvaris. “We’re bringing fight fans the action they love with CarJitsu and SlapFight and introducing some new sports we’re excited about with Chest Chop and Coffin Wars. Every Friday night, all summer long.”

Friday Night Fights will also feature programming from creators and streamers. PLN commentator and creative JT Tilley will broadcast the action with rotating guests. To debut the season, Tilley will be joined by Mayhem Miller, former UFC fighter, media personality and creator. DJs Side Quest will also be in the studio to provide entertainment for tonight’s (13 June) CarJitsu card.

Friday Night Fights will air weekly on Fridays at 10 pm ET on PLN’s YouTube channel. Fans can also catch the action on Stadium and other FAST and OTT channels.

The series kick off today (13 June) with CarJitsu Championship. Each week will feature one of CarJitsu Championship, SlapFight Championship, Chest Chop, which recently debuted exclusively on T-Pain’s Twitch channel, Ultimate Tire Wrestling and Coffin Wars, which showed a sneak preview on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2.

The formats

CarJitsu Championship involves two fighters competing for submissions in the confines of a car. Combatants are allowed to use any portion of the car as they attempt to earn submission.

SlapFight Championship is the first and premier slapfighting competition. Fighters stand across a barrel and slap their opponents, who cannot block the slaps, as they compete for knockouts and knockdowns.

In Coffin Wars, each fighter takes a turn starting at the bottom of a grappling position and must escape the coffin to win the round. If tied after two, the competitors start a third round locked up on knees and each must try to escape.

In Ultimate Tire Wrestling, two elite PLN athletes compete against each other, attempting to stuff their opponent in a giant tire.

Chest Chop is a brand-new midsection striking sport that pays homage to one of pro wrestling’s most iconic moves.
