It will broadcast all Wales matches in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 as well as live coverage of the opening match of the 2025 Lions Tour

S4C will bring comprehensive coverage of the Wales team at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 in Switzerland next month with live broadcasts of all the Wales matches on S4C.

On Friday, 4 July S4C will broadcast an entire evening of programmes to celebrate the success of the Wales women’s team and to bring viewers all the buzz and excitement ahead of the first game on Saturday, 5 July.  

The special coverage following Wales’ journey to the Euros – on TV, digital platforms and social media – are all part of S4C’s AmdanHi campaign which support the Wales women’s team and inspires more women and girls to take part in sports. 

The channel will kick off the action with two special episodes of Heno; Heno: Euro 2025 at 19:00 and 20:30 with Angharad Mair and Llinos Lee bringing viewers a slice of the action in the company of Welsh fans in Lucerne, and a taste of the upcoming championship. 

The channel’s evening news programme Newyddion S4C will broadcast an hour-long programme live from Lucerne at 19:30, and the documentary Yr Hawl i Chwarae (The Right to Play) will be available to watch again at 21:00, featuring the remarkable history of women’s football in Wales. 

Wales’s first match at the Women’s Euro, Wales v The Netherlands, will be live on S4C from 16:30, with kick-off at 17:00. All Wales matches will be broadcast live on S4C, S4C Clic, and BBC iPlayer. 

Sioned Dafydd will front S4C’s coverage, along with expert analysis from Gwennan Harries Owain Tudur Jones, with Dylan Ebenezer and commentator Nic Parry completing S4C’s presenting team.

S4C will also broadcast this year’s Qatar Airways British & Irish Lions Men’s Tour to Australia 2025, beginning with exclusive free-to-air live coverage of the opening match in a historic co-production partnership with Irish television channel, TG4.

S4C and TG4 will join forces to bring free-to-air coverage of the Lions first-ever fixture in Ireland, and the first sports co-production between the two public service broadcasters.

The opening match of the 2025 Tour will take place at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on Friday, June 20 at 20:00 as the Lions face World Cup semi-finalists Argentina.

The game will be broadcast live and free-to-air exclusively on S4C in the UK and TG4 in Ireland, kicking off the Lions tour under Head Coach Andy Farrell. 

Among those named in this year’s squad are Welsh internationals Jac Morgan and Tomos Williams.

S4C will also broadcast extensive same-day highlights of each game every evening, with all matches available live and exclusive on Sky Sports.

Sarra Elgan will present live coverage of the Lions first game in Dublin, against Argentina, alongside former Lions legends Jamie Roberts and Dwayne Peel. Lauren Jenkins will be reporting pitchside, with Gareth Charles and Gwyn Jones in the commentary box.
