It will broadcast Premier Padel matches in the UK and Ireland, as well as Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria
Premier Padel has announced a broadcasting deal with Sky Sports, to air the competition in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
The new global padel tour is governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and backed by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).
Sky has agreed a one year deal to cover the 2022 Premier Padel season, beginning with the Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022 which starts on 28 March at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.
ESPN also recently agreed a deal to showcase Premier Padel in around 50 countries across South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. ESPN’s is a four year deal with the federation.
Premier Padel said further broadcast agreements are set to be announced in the coming days.
Since its launch a month ago, FIP, PPA and QSI have revealed there will be 10 new tournaments held this year, including four majors.
Registrations for the first official tournament, the Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022, have seen 123 pairs of players signing up, from 19 different countries. The prize money for each major will be €525,000 (£440,000).
