Florian Marliere’s Janusport channel paid “five-figure sum” for the English league

A Twitch streamer has acquired the rights to air Prem Rugby in France.
Florian Marliere’s Janusport will show the rest of the 2025/26 season, and has an option to air the 2026/27 campaign, after paying what he revealed to L’Equipe was a “five-figure sum”.
Janusport is available on YouTube as well as Twitch, but gets most of its viewers on the latter. Its coverage began with Bath v Saracens on Friday, and sees Marliereon screen commentating on the games, as is a norm for content on Twitch.
“It all stems from frustration, that a rugby fan like myself, can no longer watch this exciting competition,” Marliere told L’Equipe.
“Honestly, the idea isn’t to make money with this project; we’ll probably even lose some. But I hope that the increased visibility will lead to side projects that might be more profitable.”
Similarly, but in reverse, the French second tier of rugby is currently being shown by YouTube Tim Cocker of EggChasers Rugby in the UK and Ireland after a deal agreed last year.
Football has also seen such agreements, with last year’s Bundesliga rights cycle seeing The Overlap and Mark Goldbridge’s That’s Football channel pick up the rights to Friday night fixtures.
