Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will face Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in one-off event

The Match golf

Warner Bros. Discovery brought The Match to golf fans in Europe for the first time this Sunday, 11 December.

Eurosport 2, the Eurosport App, and discovery+ aired the one-off, 12-hole, Best Ball format match from midnight on Sunday 11 December. Eurosport.com and social platforms will offer highlights, reports and reaction from Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.

This year saw Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy suffer defeat to Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, with the competition raising funds for hurricane relief.

The competition included innovative access to the competitors, with players wearing open mics throughout, including the capability to communicate directly with their competitors and commentators. WBD Sports announcer Brian Anderson hosted live coverage, alongside NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, 2008 Masters Champion Trevor Immelman, and broadcaster Kathryn Tappen.

Warner Bros. also broadcast the previous six editions of the event, but this is the first time it is bringing it to Europe, following its merger with Discovery. TNT broadcast The Match from the United States, with simulcasts available on TBS, truTV and HLN, along with content available across Bleacher Report’s platforms leading up to and during the competition. Elsewhere, fans were able to watch through Golf Channel Latin America in LATAM; Eurosport in Asia; as well as on JTBC’s linear and digital platforms in South Korea and the SportsNet One network in Canada.
