The total is up from 475m views for the last edition

The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup reached 1.4 billion video views across social media.
This is in comparison to 475 million views for the last edition in 2022, and is joined by 3.3 billion impressions on social platforms compared to 1.2 billion in 2022. Engagement also grew, from 16 million to 60 million, and all of this helped the federation to gain an additional 400,000 followers thanks to the tournament - taking it up to 900,000 in total.
In addition, the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Instagram account has grown to become the largest across FIBA’s women’s social media landscape. It now has 222,000 followers, half of whom are female.
The tournament took place in Berlin, Germany, from 4-13 September, and saw the US defeat France in the final to make it five World Cup trophies in a row and seven of the last eight for the dominant side.
On TV, the final saw a peak of 1.5 million and average of 1.2 million on TNT in the US, and 12.3 million across its tournament coverage. Meanwhile, in France a peak audience of 1.84 million tuned in to watch the final with an average of 1.4 million on TF1’s TMC channel.
