The Broadcasting Standards Commission (BSC) has thrown out a complaint against Brass Eye creator Chris Morris from ITN newsreader Nick Owen. The regulator did not accept that Owen had been treated unfairly when he was duped into recording a message in support of a fictitious anti-paedophile group for last year's Channel 4 Brass Eye special. In its latest programme complaints report, the BSC also refused to uphold a complaint against Christine Hamilton's BBC Choice chat show in which Bernard Manning repeatedly used a racist term. Complaints upheld by the BSC included one from a viewer of Sky One's Fear Factor, which involved the eating of live beetles at a time when children could be watching. The BBC's Liquid News was also rapped for allowing sexual content in a piece about Viagra before the watershed.
