Channel 4 has commissioned indie At It Productions to produce its first ever daytime travel series, writes Rosemary Gallagher
The 15 x 30-minute series, working titled Perfect Getaway, will attempt to solve 'global travel problems' faced by families and couples in a range of scenarios, such as finding the perfect honeymoon.
Set to air from the end of the year, filming will start later this summer in locations around the world. Ian Lewis will series produce with Chris Fouracre executive producing.
C4 head of features Jo McGrath, who commissioned the show, said she hoped the series would add more diversity to C4's daytime schedule which is relaunching this autumn. It currently relies on property and lifestyle shows as well as staples such as Richard and Judy and Countdown.
The last travel show C4 commissioned was The Real Holiday Show, which ended in 2000.
