Channel 4 is to beef up its factual entertainment slate with the appointment of Initial executive producer Nav Raman as editor, factual entertainment, writes Penny Hughes.
Raman joins C4 next month and replaces Stephen D Wright who was promoted to commissioning editor, factual entertainment in October. She will be responsible for developing new factual entertainment formats reporting to C4 head of entertainment and comedy Danielle Lux.

Raman has produced and directed factual and entertainment programmes for the BBC, ITV and C4 including Baadasss TV, Flava and Devil's Advocate (all for C4). She became Brighter Pictures head of productions in 1999 before joining Initial last year. Her recent credits include Our Manics in Havana (C4), Chained (E4) and Bar Wars (E4/C4).

Lux said: 'Nav's experience and expertise across factual, entertainment and music programming perfectly equips her for the role.'

This is the third appointment Lux has made since she joined C4 in September.

Last month she made BBC senior commissioning executive, entertainment John McHugh C4 head of entertainment and in October she poached MTV director of programmes Murray Boland to become E4 head of programmes.
