Channel 5 commercial sales director Kelly Williams is leaving the broadcaster after 14 years.
Williams, who has held the top sales job at C5 for the past seven years will leave at the end of January, and is to be replaced by Nick Bampton.
Bampton, who left his role as managing director of sales house Viacom Brand Solutions in January, will take on responsibility for C5’s ads, sponsorship and digital sales deals.
He will also work with C5 owner Northern & Shell’s other TV and print commercial divisions to leverage opportunities across the group.
Stan Myerson group managing director of Northern & Shell said Bampton’s experience made him an ideal hire. “He has an enviable reputation as a lateral strategic thinker and for developing strong commercial partnerships,” he said.
Williams added leaving C5 after 14 years was a major decision. “I fully respect the channel’s new owners and the investments they are making across the board but to leave now feels right and it will allow me the chance of a break and to look at new opportunities in my career,” he added.
