Channel 5 has commissioned a doc series following crocodile collector Shaun Foggett’s attempt to set up the UK’s first crocodile zoo.
Ordered by head of factual, news and current affairs Andrew O’Connell, Croc Man will be made by Tigress Productions as a co-production with the project’s major funder, Endemol Worldwide Distribution (EWD).

Beland said: “Shaun is a great modern-day English eccentric - there really is so much action in this series as we see him stop at nothing and rise to many challenges all in the name of achieving his ambition. His desire to succeed is infectious and inspirational.”
O’Connell added: “Shaun’s passion and knowledge of all things crocodile-related makes for essential viewing. Watching him attempt to fulfil his lifelong dream of setting up Britain’s first crocodile zoo is addictive television.”
The series is scheduled to air on C5 around September. EWD is planning to take the series to this autumn’s Mipcom as part of the super-indie’s slate.
