Arena Leisure offer thrown off course as media company mounts last minute expression of interest
BROADCAST EXCLUSIVE -Race course owner Arena Leisure's£320m bid for interactive and terrestrial television horse-racing rights has been thrown off course after Carlton Communications jumped in this week with an 11th- hour expression of interest, writes Simon Ellery.

The Racecourse Association, which represents all 59 British racecourses and has set a deadline of 10 October to make a decision on Arena's 10-year deal, is now expected to look at an offer from Carlton. The bid is believed to be for racing to be shown on ITV2.
