CG studio Lumiere has merged with the post-production house Nice Biscuits after the two companies formed a joint venture.

Having worked together closely for the previous two years, Lumiere has become Nice Biscuits’ permanent in-house CG team, with its 15-seat studio in Chelmsford becoming Nice Biscuits’ secondary hub, linked by the Genius telecoms network.

Nice Biscuits owner Russ Shaw said: “Over the years, we’ve been unsuccessful in winning some projects simply because we’ve been rightly perceived as lacking the full CG firepower. That is now well and truly behind us.”

Shaw added that as Lumiere is an established name in highend fluid animation, it will retain its corporate identity “for the moment”, but with both brands featuring on Nice Biscuits’ website and via its corporate communications.

Nice Biscuits’ credits include idents for Boomerang. Lumiere has worked on graphics for ITV’s Loose Women (pictured) and idents for ITV3.
