A miniseries of The Bourne Identity has formed part of a major sales deal between multichannel operator Chello Zone and Warner Bros International Television Distribution.

The deal, comprising 550 hours of TV and film, will see a diverse range of popular programmes heading for three of Chello Zone's UK channels: Zone Romantica, Zone Thriller and Zone Horror.

Zone Romantica has picked up ABC's historical mini-series The Thorn Birds, CBS' Falcon Crest, and 1980s drama Lace and Lace II.

Zone Thriller has picked up The Bourne Identity miniseries, which went out in 1988 and starred Richard Chamberlain, and John Grisham's legal thriller The Client.

In addition, the Stephen King TV adaptations Salem's Lot and It are heading to Zone Horror.

Steve Cole, senior vice president of channels at Chello Zone, said: “It is always a challenge to acquire the right programming that can appeal to our broad range of viewers, and having access to the expansive slate of high quality shows on offer from Warner Bros gives a huge boost to our schedules.”
