Channel 5 has ordered a blue light documentary series from ITV Studios, which will be fronted by former police detective and BBC Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding.
Police Enforcers is a 6 x 60-minute series that is due to air later this summer. It will embed Wilding with the Essex Police’s Specialist Operations Unit as it works to tackle a variety of crimes in the region.
Each episode will focus on a mix of areas within the unit including the specialist crack team, 999 response, and the patrol, mounted police, marine and dog sections.
Wilding will draw on his eight-year experience as a police officer to talk viewers through the dawn raid drug busts and hunts for armed robbers that will feature.

C5 commissioning editor of news, current affairs and documentaries Michelle Chappell ordered the series.
She said Police Enforcers would take blue light shows to a new level by “giving viewers an insight into what modern frontline policing is all about from the briefing, to the adrenaline-fuelled arrest”.
ITVS exec producer Miles Jarvis added: “Police Enforcers gives viewers a gripping insight into the highly charged world of policing.”
Police Enforcers follows C5’s long-running blue light documentary series Police Interceptors, produced by Raw Cut Television.
