Five has signed Emma Bunton to host its forthcoming live entertainment show Don’t Stop Believing.
Bunton will front the weekly 6 x 90-minute live talent show, due to air this summer, with a panel of yet-to-be-named judges set to support her.
The Shine TV and GroupM Entertainment-produced series has seen 3,000 singing and dancing groups apply ahead of the 28 May closing date.
Donna Taberer, head of entertainment for Five said Bunton was an ideal figurehead for the series.
The show will scour Britain for amateur musical groups, who will be coached and choreographed by industry experts to perform in one of five live shows. After being judged by a panel, the remaining groups will perform in a live final to win a major prize.
As well as the main competition, members of the public will be invited to audition for a specially created Don’t Stop Believing supergroup, which will go on to represent the UK on the international Glee Club circuit in the US.
The auditions will be shown live, with new members being added to the group every week.
Don’t Stop Believing follows E4’s huge success with US drama Glee, which focuses on a bunch of outcasts who participate in a singing and dancing club at an Ohio secondary school.
